Hello and as always, thanks for stopping by. Today we’d like to tell you about Titleist’s new Pro V1 and Pro V1x balls.

In the Autumn of 2000,  the original Pro V1 prototype was unveiled to the PGA Tour in Las Vegas at hte Invensys Classic. That week, 47 players put the Pro V1 in play – marking one of the largest events of it’s kind in golf history.  Mary Lou Bohn, Vice President of Titleist Golf Ball Marketing and Communications describes the launch of the original Pro V1 as “especially significant in that for the very first time the best performing golf ball for tour players was also the best performing golf ball for all golfers”.

The brand new Pro V1 and Pro V1x balls will roll in to golf shops beginning Friday (January 30th) for $62.

Comparatively…

Pro V1 provides softer feel, slightly more spin in long game situations and a more penetrating trajectory for a shallower angle of descent for more roll than Pro V1x.

• Pro V1 is a three-piece, multiple component technology with a very soft compression core, ionomeric casing layer, softer thermoset urethane elastomer cover, and tiled 352 tetrahedral dimple design.

Pro V1x has a slightly firmer feel and lower long game spin and launches a bit higher with a steeper angle of descent than Pro V1.

• Pro V1x is a four-piece, multi-component technology with a dual core, ionomeric casing layer, softer thermoset urethane elastomer cover and tiled 328 tetrahedral dimple design.

More than 100 players across the worldwide professional tours have put the new models in play, including Adam Scott, Ian Poulter, Hunter Mahan, Marc Leishman, Bill Haas, Geoff Ogilvy, John Senden, Brendon Todd, Jamie Donaldson, Thongchai Jaidee and Padraig Harrington, who used the 2015 Pro V1x for the first time in his victory at the Indonesia Open.
