Good afternoon everyone and thanks for stopping by! Hope you are all having a great weekend. We’ve had the Ping Rapture equipment in our shop for almost a week now and we’re starting to get some feedback from customers.

Ping Rature Driver

A nice addition… the G5 is a really good club and I don’t know if this one is leaps and bounds better. The Rapture is really forgiving and very long… trademarks of recent Ping drivers. The thing that my customers really like about this club is that it feels and sounds like a titanium driver. Most composite drivers have a very muted “thud” sound and many lack feel… that crisp click when it’s hit just right. The Rapture blends the advantages of composite construction with the feel and sound of a titanium head.

Ping Rapture Fairway Wood

If you’re in need of a really big fairway wood… look no more! The Rapture’s titanium construction allows for a bigger overall club head. Too big for many of my customers. A really nice wood otherwise but it’s large size will probably scare a few people off!

Ping Rapture Irons

It was only a matter of time before Ping got into the multi-material iron market. Callaway has their Fusion, TaylorMade has their R7 XD… and now Ping has their Rapture. These are a bit bulky but offer the average golfer great forgiveness. They hit the ball high thanks to a very low center of gravity. My customers like them and a few have bought them… although the premium price scares some away.

We’re still waiting on the hybrid so I will pass more information along when I get it. I think the thing to keep in mind here is that the Rapture line is designed to be Ping’s multi-material, high technology and high priced line. Each club performs just a bit better than it’s cousin in the G5 line. It’s up to you to decide if the extra bang is worth the extra buck.

A quick update on some new products. We talked a bit about some new TaylorMade products on the horizon and the company has now updated their website. Head over to their site and have a look at the new R7 and R7 TP irons. Watch for an October release here.

That’s all for tonight. Congrats to my Chargers who had an awesome day against the Titans! Talk to you tomorrow.
