Just some quick tour updates bright and early on this Friday morning. Afterall, fall is the season of new equipment.
Probably the biggest news is that Tiger Woods is putting the new Nike SasQuatch driver into play this weekend at the Funai Classic. So far Woods says he likes what he has seen from the driver.
For any of you who watched last week you may have noticed a rather unusual putter in Charles Howell III’s bag. This is the new Odyssey Tri-Ball SRT putter that we first got to see at the PGA Show in Las Vegas. This monster is huge and uses a 3 ball alignment system along with a White Steel insert.
On the LPGA Annika has finally ditched her old Callaway irons in favor of the newer X-18’s. Annika is still using her Fusion FT-3 driver, Big Bertha fairway woods, Callaway Forged + sand wedge, and Nike TW Forged lob wedge.
We have been getting a number of emails about the new irons that Retief Goosen has been playing over the last couple of months. Looks like the no. 4 player in the world is finally starting to get some well deserved attention. Anyway, he has been playing a new Taylor Made RAC forged muscle back club, you can check out the boys at GolfWRX to see some pictures. At this time Taylor Made has no intention of bringing these clubs to market. Sounds like they would rather stay with a forged cavity back club.
Finally, Ernie Els is hoping for a December return date after having knee surgery this summer. Rumour has it Els has been working with his clothing sponsor, Fidra, on some new Ernie Els clothing lines.
