Old School Cool – Ping Eye 2 Vs. Tommy Armour 845s

When I think of classic irons, these two (and the many variations that followed) are at the top of the list. First released in 1982, the Ping Eye 2 has seen a number of changes to the grooves, head shape and materials used. Introduced a few years later in 1987, the Tommy Armour 845s Silver Scot combined clean looks and surprising forgiveness.

You’ve travelled back in time to 1988 and are scheduled to tee it up in the morning. Which irons are you putting in your bag?

Fun fact: I still have a gap wedge from one of these sets in my bag!

  • Which one you got?

    • Ping Eye 2
    • Tommy Armour 845s Silver Scot
