Hello and thanks for stopping by! Late last week Cleveland Golf introduced their latest CG Black™ line of woods and irons. These clubs were specifically designed for seniors, women and players with slower swing speeds. The new CG line is available for pre-order now, and will start to appear in stores November 7th, 2014.
Cleveland began the design of their new CG Black line with the knowledge that the average golfer swings their clubs at least 15 mph slower than a professional golfer. Using this knowledge, Cleveland developed the CG Black line. Optimizing the club for golfers with slower swing speeds, and focusing on the many factors that inhibit these types of golfers from hitting the ball further and maximizing their potential.
The CG Black Driver
Advertised as the lightest drivers on the market, these clubs are designed to increase club head and ball speed which means more distance. Available in lofts of 9°, 10.5° and 12°, the men’s model comes standard with a Mitsubishi® Bassara E45 graphite shaft, while the women’s model, available in lofts of 10.5° and 12°, comes standard with a Mitsubishi Bassara E-Series graphite shaft. Both men’s and women’s Black Drivers carry a minimum advertised price of $349.99.
The CG Black Fairway Woods
These clubs use lower swing MOI and lower CG to increase launch angle and carry for women and seniors. The men’s and women’s CG Black fairway woods are available with Cleveland Golf’s widest selection of loft options ever (15°, 16.5°, 18° , 20° , and 23°), which allows slower swing speed players more options to replace difficult to hit long irons. The men’s CG Black fairway woods come standard with a Mitsubishi Bassara E45 graphite shaft, while the women’s model comes standard with a Mitsubishi Bassara E-Series graphite shaft. Both the men’s and women’s Black Fairway Woods come with a minimum advertised price of $199.99.
The CG Black Hybrids
Like the CG Black Fairway Woods, lower swing MOI and lower CG are utilized for increased launch angle and carry in the CG Black Hybrids. . The CG Black hybrids are available with Cleveland Golf’s widest selection of loft options ever (17°, 19°, 21°, 23° and 25°), which allows slower swing speed players more options to replace difficult to hit long irons. The men’s CG Black hybrids comes standard with a Mitsubishi Bassara E55 graphite shaft and the women’s model (available in lofts of 19°, 21°, 24° and 27°) comes standard with a Mitsubishi Bassara E-Series graphite shaft. The minimum advertised price for both men and women is $169,99.
The CG Black Irons
These clubs utilize lower swing MOI and incorporate a thin but high-strength club face which increases COR for some added distance. Designed to carry the ball longer, these irons are meant for golfers with a swing speed lower than 90 mph. The men’s CG Black irons are offered with a Nippon® NS Pro 1040 steel shaft ($699.99) or a Mitsubishi Bassara E60 graphite shaft ($799.99). The women’s CG Black irons come standard with a Mitsubishi Bassara E-Series graphite shaft ($799.99).
