Dog don’t use those guys for bait. Lady fish, silver trout, catfish work just as well if not better

It’s illegal to use game fish as bait in la

As another commenter said, you’ll find out if you try but in my experience strong smelling bloody fish work best, tuna, cuda, mackerel, or even herring all the oily fellas

Possibly? Or FTW chop up drum, catch barracuda, use those suckers for bait, they’re so bloody and oily sharks can’t resist them
Dad-Bod-Energy
No man eat that one! If you ask the old-timers in any gulf or Atlantic town about the best eating fish that no one knows about it’s drum. Better than redfish! Take the fillets and use the head as bait

I always use finger mullet or cut-up chunks of larger mullet when going for shark. Or just chunks of whatever smaller fish I catch while going for them. Definitely would not cut up such a gorgeous black drum just for bait. Throw him back and let him make some babies

Tossem back or eat him they are a game fish. Sharks, especially bulls like really oily/bloody fish baits anyways as they rely mostly on smell. Like others have said lady fish, sand trout, catfish, personal favorite is hands down large cut mullet
