SouthOrlandoFather’s Perspective
I never thought so many people would be paying $40 to $100 to play in a pickleball tournament. I am in Orlando, and I would guess 10 to 15 tournaments every weekend within an hour of driving distance.
Player Reactions
For real lol. I don’t know how some of these tourneys get off charging as much as they do, as someone who used to work in event management for triathlons, 5k, marathons. – bligrooter
Let me save $10 and pass on the 100% cotton shirt I’ll never wear. If it’s not a wicking shirt, I don’t want it. I just did my first tournament this weekend, $40.51. – Deezul_AwT
Our local association does 2 or 3 tournaments a year and does not charge, but we have access to a free ODR with six courts. – PikAchUTKE
In Defense of Tournaments
OP and a lot of the comments so far are coming off as pretty cynical. No one is forcing you or anyone to enter or pay for any tournament. People pay a lot more money for a lot worse things. – thismercifulfate
