Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by. We've talked a bit about Matrix shafts in the past and the company is off to a fast start in 2008.
Matrix has enjoyed some early Tour success this year. The company's shafts have already won twice… D.J. Trahan with an Ozik XCON-7 in his fairway woods and Richard Sterne with an Ozik XCON-6. Other players have jumped on the Matrix bandwagon…most notably Rory Sabbatini, Kevin Na and K.J. Choi.
Back in December we mentioned that another golfer might be looking at a different shaft in his driver…
"Tiger Woods isn't known to change his equipment a whole lot but there have a few rumors concerning his driver shaft. It's always big news when the best player in the world makes an equipment change… don't be surprised if you see him with a different shaft (from a different company) to start 2008."
The World #1 kicks off his season this week and there have been some rumors swirling that Tiger might try a Matrix in his driver. It will be interesting to see what he brings to the tee this week.
(Jan 22 – SirShanksAlot Adds… Tiger has been testing the Matrix F7M2 M-Spin Prototype)
The company's Ozik XCON was also selected as one of the interchangeable shafts for the new TaylorMade r7 CGB Max Limited driver. Not a bad start to 2008 if you ask me…
Be sure to swing by the Martix website and check out the line. Speaking of shafts… I'm curious to see what the interchangeable club boom does to those individuals that sell and install after market upgrade shafts. Could we see a time when golfers will "reshaft" their own clubs and not turn to a clubmaker to do the work for them? Just a thought…
We'll talk to you again tomorrow…
