Rumors Floating Around New Lamkin Grips

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by. Not a whole lot going on today but I’ll throw together a post with stuff that I’ve got… and I think I’ll add in my Masters picks too. Let’s get to it!

I’ve had a few customers asking about a possible recall of the new Lamkin Dual Density Torsion Control grips. I had a chance to talk to my Lamkin distributor today and he has confirmed that these rumors are totally false. I did some internet research on these rumors and found that many people were complaining that the grip’s finish was coming off but my guy hasn’t seen any problems so far. My shop will have these grips in stock soon and I am very excited to give them a try! Check out the Lamkin website for more details.

We don’t talk a lot about Adams but I thought I’d talk a bit about the set that Morris Hatalsky used in his win on the Champions Tour over the weekend. Hatalsky used three Adams Idea a2 hybrids in his win. The use of hybrids is really nothing new but it is unique to see a Tour player that uses three of them. Adams makes some great stuff and we’re hoping to bring you even more Adams news in the future!

Odyssey Golf has unveiled their newest putter line… the Odyssey White Hot XG. These new putters promise to be the company’s softest ever. The XG has also enjoyed some Tour success already… Phil Mickelson used an XG at the BellSouth Classic and seemed to do ok with it. Watch for 8 XG models at a store near you starting April 15th.

Speaking of Callaway (and Odyssey)… we’ve also had a few questions about the new Callaway X-Tour wedges. These new wedges will be available April 15th and they are Callaway’s entry into the “high spin” wedge category. Two of these new wedges (58 and 60 degree) feature a special PM grind and “Mack Daddy” grooves… inspired by Callaway staffer Phil Mickelson.

Ok.. before I go… let’s get to my Masters picks. I had a really good year picking the winners in 2005 and I hope I can carry it over to 2006. I’m actually going to agree with SirPuttsAlot and pick Retief Goosen here. I’m bringing in SirShanksAlot Jr to help me with my underdog pick. He likes John Daly (don’t most kids like John Daly?) so I’ll take him. That’s all for today… enjoy Thursday’s Masters and we’ll talk to you tomorrow.
