Hey everyone. I’m taking care of SirPuttsAlot’s PGA picks for the week as he enjoys his honeymoon. I’ve had a pretty good run picking Major winners so it will be interesting to see how I fair picking the Shell Houston Open.
SirPuttsAlot usually picks three or four guys but I think I’ll keep it easy and just pick a favorite and an underdog. The Shell Houston Open field isn’t all that strong and it is a perfect tournament for a younger player to break through for their first win.
My favorite this week is Vijay Singh. The defending champ is having a good year but is still looking for his first win of the season. I think Singh is due… and a course he likes combined with a weaker field should give him a great shot at defending.
Cobra Golf has had a great season so far… Cobra staffers Geoff Ogilvy, Camilo Villegas and J.B. Holmes have all played very well and I think it’s time that another staff player steps up. My underdog pick is fellow Cobra staffer Kevin Na. Na has made the cut in half of his 2006 starts and he’s got some game. A weaker field might give him a chance to rise to the top. Cobra has a good thing going right now and another win could give them some serious momentum.
Ok… before I go… a special bonus pick from SirShanksAlot Jr. He took John Daly at the Masters and is looking to rebound from a tough pick. He has decided to go with David Toms… a very smart pick. Toms is 5th on the Money List and is one of the biggest names in the field.
So there you have it… a few picks from us. I’ll be back tomorrow with more news and emails. Have a great night and we’ll talk to you soon!
