Hey everyone. I’m back in town now and all recharged. Sorry to leave you alone with SirShanksAlot for so long but everything is back under control and I’ve regained control of the fantasy picks.

SirShanks picked a couple for the Shell Houston Open last week and his results were about as good as my history. Vijay tied for 36th and Kevin Na withdrew after the first round. We were thinking about combining our picks for this week but then we might do even worse so I figured I would try my luck again.

It’s good to see the PGA Tour back in New Orleans this week for the Zurich Classic. After everything that city went through last year it’s nice to see things slowly getting back to normal even if there is a ton of work left still.

The Zurich Classic draws a weaker field but usually creates some excitement. First pick this week is Stephen Ames. The way he’s been swinging the club lately he has to be considered a favorite to win this event. When his game is on he is a very well-rounded player, it’s just a matter of how long he can stay on a roll.

Second pick is Daniel Chopra. Chopra is a somewhat streaky player from Sweden but he finished 9th in this event last year. He has missed three of the last four cuts but also has three top twenty finishes in 2006. Chopra makes a lot of birdies and hits the ball a mile so he can play well on a number of courses.

I also like Ben Crane to have a good week here. Crane has battled some serious back problems and has also been working on a new, quicker pre-shot routine so he has struggled early on in 2006 but Crane is a very tough player mentally. I think he has shown signs that his game is going in the right direction and this could be a good week for him.

I also like Tom Pernice Jr. this week. Pernice is on a roll finishing no worse than T27 in his last six events. Look for him to continue this hot play into New Orleans.

So there we have it. We’ll see if a week off helped sharpen my fantasy skills. We’re pretty much caught up on the emails now so feel free to send in any questions.
