Hello everyone… hope you had a great weekend and thanks for dropping by. I have the day off today so I’m up early to update… I’m so dedicated! The first week of the 2006 PGA season is in the books and the Orlando PGA Show is just around the corner so there are lots of odds and ends to get to.

Cleveland Golf debuted a few interesting items over the weekend. The first and most obvious was their new (old) logo. Looks like they are going to use the “CG” logo more prominently. This was evident if you paid attention to the hats and bags of various Cleveland staffers. Speaking of the bags… looks like Cleveland has also changed their staff bags and their colors. The staff bags are now red, white and blue and are a bit more eye-catching than before. Check out the new staff bags on the Cleveland Golf website. Speaking of the Cleveland Golf website… it also offers a sneak peak at the new Cleveland HiBore driver. We don’t know lots about this club yet but it looks like a bigger version of the HALO utility club. This design keeps the center of gravity low and the ball high… consider it Cleveland’s version of the Nike SQ. Watch for the HiBore in April.

We’ve been talking a bit about Cobra Golf’s push back onto the PGA Tour. We should see some sort of official announcement about who they have signed in the next week or so. One of their new signings, Geoff Ogilvy, has also reached an agreement with Puma Golf. Ogilvy will wear Puma shoes and apparel, and will also appear in numerous print and TV ads. We saw some of the Puma Golf stuff at the Las Vegas PGA show and it looks pretty cool. Check out the Puma website for more info.

The new Callaway Big Bertha irons are up on the Callaway Golf website. These are basically tweaked Big Bertha ‘04 irons… they feature a bit more heel-toe weighting and a slightly deeper cavity. I’ve seen them a few times and they are pretty close to the current irons. My advice… save yourself some cash and find a set of the ’04’s instead of waiting for the new ones.

Yonex Golf has introduced their new Cyberstar Nanospeed driver. This 460CC club features Nanotechnology that both increases club head speed and shaft stability. A titanium weight in the sole also dramatically lowers the center of gravity. Pictures of the new club are available on the Yonex website.

Ok that’s it for now… time to go and do boring day off stuff… laundry, cleaning, sleeping. I’ll be back later for another update so stay tuned. Thanks for the email and support… and have yourself a great day!
