We’ve been talking about the Nike Slingshot Hybrids for a couple of months now and they have finally been confirmed. Nike has announced that the Slingshot Tour Hybrid will be available February 1st and the Slingshot Hybrid on March 1st.

The regular version will have a low center of gravity and will be available in lofts of 17, 20, and 23 degrees and either the Mitsubishi hDiamana Graphite or True Temper Speed Step Light shafts. This club will also be available in a ladies version.

The Tour version will be available in lofts of 15, 18, 21, and 24 degrees and either the Mitsubishi hDiamana Tour Graphite or True Temper Dynamic Gold SL steel. This club has already been put in play by several Nike staff members and I have heard rumours that Tiger has been tinkering around with one.

Speaking of Mitsubishi shafts, they have recently announced the release of their new Red Board shaft. The shaft will be made with the same quality as the popular Blue Board but will promote a higher launch angle with a softer tip section.

We’ve talked about the Frankly Frog putter before. This putter is designed by a company called Frankly Golf and it is their version of the high MOI/alignment-style putter. This putter has been used by Bernhard Langer in competition. The Frog is now available in different colors! There is a black model with a black grip available now and a pink model with pink grip to follow at the end of January. Check out their website for more details.

For awhile now we have been hearing rumblings about new Scotty Cameron putters coming to market. We have talked about the Circa 62 models which should be available this spring and it looks like there could be another one to join it. The C-5 putter is being tour tested right now and pictures are up at GolfWRX. The C-5 is a T-shaped, alignment-style putter with a variable weight system. This looks like an interesting concept and we will keep you updated once we know more.

That’s all for tonight boy’s and girl’s. SirShanks is slacking today and I am fighting the onset of a cold so I’m going to watch the rest of Lost and head off to bed. Enjoy your weekend and I am making the bold prediction right now that Michelle Wie is going to make the cut at the Sony Open!
