New Tour Shafts

For all of you out there who don’t buy clubs off the rack and want to play what the pros play, well now you can get one step closer. True Temper and UST, two of the world’s top shaft manufacturers have introduced programs where consumers are able to buy prototype shafts just like those used on tour. The shafts will have the exact same spec’s as the tour models and are available to public. Visit www.usttourshop.com and www.tttourconcept.com for more information on the shafts available and how to purchase them but don’t expect these shafts to be cheap.

A side note, Vijay won the Buick with two changes to his familiar Cleveland lineup. Mr. Singh was using a new putter, a Never Compromise Gray Matter II full mallet-style head. Although he missed a few short ones his putting definitely seemed improved this week. Also in the bag was a Sonartec SS07 13-degree 3-wood.

Zach Johnson also carried a Sonartec club en route to his solid finish.

SirShanksAlot Adds… While we’re on the topic of shafts… watch for the new True Temper Black Gold shafts to hit stores in September. These stepless shafts will feature the same ball flight as the Dynamic Gold but will provide a different feel because of it’s descending weight technology… the shafts will get lighter from long iron to short iron. The Black Gold shafts will also be frequency tuned and will come in a stain nickel finish. Check out the Black Gold website for more details.
