Scotty Cameron has a new series of putters on the way. The Scotty Cameron Circa 62 putters are starting to show up here and there. There are 3 models in the series and they feature a dark finish similar to the Studio Design series. Why 62? In honor of the year Mr. Cameron was born of course.

You may have seen Vijay Singh on the Golf Channel the other night. They were talking about his new Never Compromise Gray Matter 2 putter after Vijay’s strong performance at the Buick. The GM2 putter is a mallet-style but Vijay was talking about the counter weights in it. Counter weighting is starting to become a bit of a fad in putters, you will also see it in the Wilson Kirk Currie line of putters. Counter weighting basically adds weight under the grip at the top of the club. According to Vijay this weighting made his putter feel more balanced and easier to swing. Whatever it was it seemed to work, we’ll see how it does for him this weekend.

I have heard rumors that TaylorMade will have a completely new wood line up for 2006. Not really a big surprise but it does go against some things I have heard from TaylorMade sources. We knew the V-Steel was going to be replaced and there will be a bigger version of the R7 on the way but it sounds like whole sale changes are on the way. We can also expect a new RAC CGB iron and a new forged blade in the spring. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
