Hello again everyone and welcome to another day of golf news here at SirShanksAlot.com. Some odds and ends to mention today…

I talked with my Titleist rep today and he confirmed that the 735 irons will be released in August. There should be some other new Titleist clubs on the horizon shortly but the 735’s seem to be the ones that everyone is asking about. I’ll see if I can get an “official” list with some prices and then I will pass it on.

The new clubs have started to arrive at my shop. The TaylorMade R7 fairway woods arrived on Monday, the Callaway Fusion FT-3 driver and fairway woods came yesterday and the Callaway HX Tour 56 ball came this morning. We have had a few people sniffing around the R7 fairway woods but the price has been turning most away. People need to understand that these are a “TP” club and that most people would be better off with the R5 fairway. Watch for some new golf club reviews shortly… the Callaway Fusion FT-3, TaylorMade R7 fairway, TaylorMade Rescue Dual and the TaylorMade R5 TP just to name a few.

Footjoy has released a new golf shoe… is it just me or is July a really odd time to release a shoe? The Footjoy GF: II features a Wishbone Suspension system (for increased stability), Pittards leather (a high-end leather), a gel pocket around the ankle and a 2 year waterproof warranty. I won’t sit here and bore you with all the details but check out the Footjoy website for more information. The GF: II’s will begin shipping July 15th.

Cobra has dropped the price of the 400SZ driver. We dropped our prices on Fathers Day (we knew a reduction was coming) and it has really spiked sales. Looks like the price reduction only applies to the 400SZ (non-offset) and 400SZ Tour. If you are a better player and are in need of a new driver… have a look at the 400SZ Tour. It is actually a really nice club and comes stock with a Fujikura Vista Pro 65 shaft. This looks like this is the end of the road for the 400Sz… an awesome club for a great price. Check it out!

In other closeout news… my rep has hinted that the current Callaway Big Bertha irons will not be around in 2006. Makes sense… this is the second year of the life cycle for these irons. I’ll keep digging and see if I can get a concrete answer here.

I also had a nice chat with my Tour Edge rep today. We got talking about the Exotics line and he mentioned that an Exotics driver is in the works right now. Watch for a spring release… he says they are still tweaking the retail version. You’ve probably read our Exotics reviews this week… this is some great equipment!

That’s all for today… I’m tired and my bed is calling. Thanks to everyone that has emailed us… SirPuttsAlot is staying caught with the responses. We’re working on some cool stuff right now and we’ll post it very soon. I also want to mention a few new additions to our “Links” page. Please welcome The Reluctant Jam Boy – a very funny blog written by an actual country club caddy and Hooked On Golf Blog – a good source of golf information updated on a regular basis. Also a reminder that SirShanksAlot.com will be updating live from the 2005 PGA Show in Las Vegas at the end of September. If you’re from Vegas or will be there during the show, let us know!
