Happy Easter everyone! Before I start today’s news… SirPuttsAlot and myself have started the new-look SIRSHANKSALOT.COM that will make it’s debut at the start of April. Thanks to all of our readers who emailed us suggestions for the redesigned site and we are working hard to make it the best golf site on the net! So far it looks pretty good… there is a lot of cutting and pasting right now but it should be worth it.
After working on the site last night, SirPuttsAlot and I went for a few beers. We were watching some golf highlights and noticed the sweet green pants that Darren Clarke was wearing. So we started talking about the best and worst dressed on the PGA Tour… and SirPuttsAlot created a Rant!
We got an email the other day asking about the TaylorMade R500 Tour Driver. It is still around on the PGA Tour but most TaylorMade guys use something else now. The R500 driver came in two different heads…. I think they were 320CC and 340CC. They were nice drivers but they never really caught on with most Tour players. Hope this answers your question and thanks for the email!
Speaking of TaylorMade… the R7 Fairway should be making it’s Tour debut very soon. I don’t have a ton of information on this club but it will probably spend the summer on Tour before being released in the fall.
SirPuttsAlot noticed that Sergio Garcia was using a Yes! putter yesterday. Yes! Golf is an awesome putter manufacturer that really doesn’t get enough credit. Their putters have been or are used by many Tour players including Retief Goosen and Michelle Wie. Wow, Yes! Golf sounds like the perfect company for one of our Golf Company Of The Year Awards…
Chris Smith found a different way to get sponsors… he auctioned off his sleeve on Ebay… well not his actual shirt sleeve but the advertising space on it. The auction lasted 10 days and it gave smaller business’ a chance to advertise on the PGA Tour… something that is normally left to the big companies. The winner was Ohio’s New Generation Steel. The auction caught the attention of CBS and they then enquired about Smith’s other sleeve. After some negotiation, Smith agreed to wear New Generation Steel on one sleeve and CBS’s “Yes, Dear” sitcom on the other.
Well I think I will get back to cutting and pasting. Thanks for all your emails. Have a great Easter weekend and we will talk to you soon!
