Some News From Titleist Golf

Not lots going on today.. just a few Titleist notes for you…

I had a nice chat with my Titleist source today who just got back from sales meetings in Orlando. He said that the 905s and 905t drivers were there, the 904 fairways, a whole new ball line (including a tweaked Pro V1 and Pro V1x), some new Scotty Cameron putters (I have reported on those in the past), some new Vokey Spin Milled wedges, and some new bags were also there. I asked about the 735 irons and the Pro V1 ball with the “hex” dimples and he said that their people made no mention of them. These haven’t been around for that long and I think the 735 will probably be a mid-season addition (maybe a replacement for the 704. CB) and the new ball is probably still a season away. The rest of the stuff will start shipping within the next month or so and I should see it and hit it soon.

A few “recent signings” made some noise on the weekend. Justin Leonard won the Bob Hope in only his second start as a Nike Golf staffer. Tim Clark finished second at the Bob Hope… after winning on the other side of the world last week and having recently signed with Srixon Golf. Leonard’s win jumped him up to #16 in the World Rankings too.

The TaylorMade R7 Quad won the “Product Ingenuity” award at the ING Industry Awards Presentation at the Orlando show last week.

The Golf Club Buying Guide did very well on it’s first day up. I should have the next part up on Monday or so. If anyone wants me to focus on something specific, drop me a line and I will see what I can do.
