Looks like Thomas Bjorn is joining the Callaway Golf team. I haven’t got all the details of his deal but my source says he will play the X-Tour irons and the new Fusion driver. Another good signing for Callaway if you ask me.

I had a nice chat with my TaylorMade Golf source today too. He seems to think that the company will unveil a few new products at the show. He didn’t have many details… saying the “in the know” people are staying very quiet before the show… but he thinks we could see a new driver, a new rescue club and some new putters. I don’t know what to think about another new driver. TaylorMade made it pretty clear (to me anyways) that they did not want to enter the Cobra/Big Bertha price point but that seems like the only place a new driver could go. They wouldn’t make a more expensive driver than the R7 Quad would they? The new Rescue club makes sense… it has been in the line unchanged for a while. I’m guessing the new one would probably be an addition to the line and not a replacement of the current club. New putters? Well those seem to come and go so no surprise there I guess. I’m sure we will see lots of this kind of chatter leading up to the Orlando PGA show.
