Well lets start with some more Hogan news. I saw some of the new stuff over the weekend. I can confirm there will be a new driver (available in two sizes, full titanium head) and a new “Callaway looking” iron. The driver is pretty plain looking with a “speed slot” on the side. It is blue and looks like a TaylorMade 580XD/Titleist 983E. The irons are cast and look a lot like the Callaway X-12’s. I just saw these quickly at a shop on the weekend but should have a lot more info on them this week.

Watch for the Callaway “Trade Up Trade In” program to expand next year. Rumor has it that Callaway will start accepting clubs from other manufacturers as long as they are being traded in on Callaway equipment.

Ping has just announced the release of four new Craz-E putters. The Craz-E B (belly putter), Craz-E C (center shaft), Craz-E H (Anser style), and the Craz-E L (long putter) should make the Craz-E even more popular than it already is. Check out www.pinggolf.com/media for pictures.

I have talked to a few people that have tried the new Nike NDS irons and their feedback has been very good. I think these irons will cause some problems for Nike…. no one will want to spend the extra money on the more expensive Slingshot irons. Watch for the NDS to be the big seller for Nike and I would not be surprised if the Slingshots are soon discontinued or changed. LPGA Tour player Grace Park put the NDS irons in play a few weeks ago.
