I got a sneak preview of the new Cobra stuff today. They will introduce 3 new irons soon. One looks a lot like the current Cobra SS-i and will be geared towards the better player. The second will go after the Ping G2 and Big Bertha irons. This iron is expected to be Cobra’s best seller next year and should be very competitively priced. The third will be much higher priced and will be a premium club for people that have the money to spend. I can’t remember the names but they are something like the 2200, 2400 and 3100 or something like that….. I’ll get the names soon.

Cobra will also introduce a hybrid club in the fall. No indication as to the name or specs but my source has confirmed they might continue with the “Baffler” name.

And in case you have been living under a rock for the past few months, you probably already know Titleist will have the 503H hybrid wood out shortly. Should be available in 19, 22, 25 degree.

I saw the Odyssey 2 Ball White Steel putters today. They actually have the regular White Hot insert with a metallic centre. Wait until you see the grips and the headcovers….. I hope you like BRIGHT colors!

I talked to my Wilson source yesterday and got a broad overview of what is to come next year. Looks like they will have 2 new titanium drivers, carbon composite fairway woods, steel hybrid woods, a set of blades, a combo set, a set for the “higher” handicap, a putter line designed by Kirk Currie (Kirk is a putter guru from Texas that is big into custom fit putters, he also did some work for Slazenger) and some new balls. It is pretty clear by these introductions that Wilson is going after the better player with their equipment. They should keep the Fat Shaft technology for their mid to low end equipment.
