Ricky Barnes Signs With Top Flite Golf

Top Flite has announced that Ricky Barnes will be their new face on tour. This really isn’t a signing per say as Barnes was already under contract with Top Flite’s parent company Callaway Golf. This is a surprise to me because I thought Jim Furyk would have been the logical choice and a far more recognizable name.

Watch for a wider selection of TaylorMade R7 Quad weights to come out soon. I have heard we should see 4,6,8 gram weights soon. The current driver only comes with 2 and 10 gram ones.

The new TaylorMade driver will be called the R5 Dual and will come in two forms…. the R5 Dual Type N (neutral) and Type D (draw enhanced). If you are getting confused by all of this don’t worry because you are not alone!

Callaway’s new iron should be called the X-18. No word on what they will look like but I should see them fairly soon. As reported earlier, they should be joined by a Fusion Iron and probably one more. There is a titanium faced Great Big Bertha Iron currently available in Japan but Callaway says there are no plans in bringing it here.
