2012 Ryder Cup – Driving Statistics

Good afternoon everyone! The Ryder Cup is almost here and statistical analysis stories and blog posts are everywhere. Which team hits it better off the tee? Which team is better around the greens? Which team has a better greens in regulation percentage on the 3rd Friday of the month after Labor Day? You get the idea…

I’m not much for stats but I do like infographics. Here’s a cool one I came across this morning from the folks at PaddyPower. Most interesting to me is average driving distance stats. We hear so much about the American “bombers” (Watson and Johnson) but the Euros have a few of their own too. Fans here in North America don’t see Nicholas Colsaerts as much as other Euros but I have a feeling he’s going to play a big role in a Euro victory this weekend.
