SirShanksAlot: Upon close inspection, this is one of the coolest golf patents I’ve ever seen – this patent is by Nike. At first glance, I thought this was a patent for a dual-colored golf ball much like some of those old Ping golf balls. But alas, this is much cooler. Here’s a rundown of how it works:
Each golf ball contains two pigments that are independent of each other – blue and yellow. When enough spin is imparted on the ball – it will appear green in the air. There is also talk about having the pigments only react when oscillated and in sun light – which would enable the ball to appear white in normal conditions. This patent is pretty intense, so we recommend clicking the link above for all the nitty gritty details. Cool stuff from Nike!
