Poor Robert Garrigus…

Good evening everyone! It’s been a busy weekend in sports and unfortunately (or fortunately… depending on who you’re cheering for) we’ve seen a couple of epic fails over the past few days. Saturday saw a goalkeeper blowing the simplest save and today it was poor Robert Garrigus.

In case you haven’t seen it yet… here’s how the St. Jude Classic finished this afternoon…

It’s not all bad news for Robert though. There have been lots of massive crash and burn finishes over the years.

Even the the best players in the world have their issues. Just ask Phil Mickelson at the 2006 U.S. Open (you can skip to about 3:30 into the video to see the collapse).

Others will remember Doug Sanders and his missed 3 foot put on the final hole of the 1970 Open Championship at St. Andrews. And while we’re talking about the Open Championship… we have to mention Jean Van de Velde….

This one gives me headaches every time I watch it.

What’s your favorite golf (or non-golf) sports collapse? Leave your comments below!

  1. I don’t know what was worse; watching Garrigus implode or watching him walk around looking like he crapped his pants.

I said to my wife “Dear God I think he may have shat himself”!
