Good morning everyone and thanks for stopping by! More new clubs for you to check out – The TaylorMade Burner SuperFast woods and Nike's adjustable VR fairway woods.
Let's start with the TaylorMade Burner SuperFast. TaylorMade calls these their "lightest driver and fairway woods ever". The driver weighs 284 grams. I'd say that's pretty light. Features include a 460CC head, larger club face, Inverted Cone Technology, a lighter and longer Matrix Ozik XCon shaft and a Winn light grip. If it were any lighter, I think this driver would float away. Oh ya… it's also got a giant "1" on it and the head is shaped like a rounded triangle (see picture). You'll see this driver in mid-February. I'll be curious to try this one. The previous Burner drivers have been pretty good. Will the lighter club and longer shaft make a big difference? Sure a longer shaft promotes a wider arc but it can result in a loss of control. Interesting…
The Burner SuperFast fairway wood feature a similar story. They're lighter and larger than the previous Burner offerings (the 3 wood is 200CC) and will be available in 3 lofts. Watch for these in mid-February as well.
Nike is adding to it's adjustable VR line with their new VR STR8-FIT Tour fairway woods. The story behind these is similar to that of the VR STR8-FIT driver… Nike's STR8-FIT technology allows the golfer to choose from 32 different face options and the club also features a Compression Channel on the sole. Combine all these with a thin steel face and you've got what appears to be a pretty solid fairway wood. These will come stock with an Aldila Voodoo shaft and will be available January 28th.
One last note. We received an email from the DRIVEHARD campaign. The campaign is raising awareness and funds for the fight against Alzheimer's. They're selling cool DRIVEHARD wristbands – similar to the Live Strong ones. Check out their website and support a great cause.
That's all for now… talk to you later!
