Hey everyone, and thanks for stopping by! I got a call the other day from my father – he recently bought a place down in the Scottsdale area, and he's working with the Mrs. to fix it up. He happen to be there during the Frys.com Open, and thought he'd go check it out. Now if you come from Canada, you'll know that when a PGA Tour event comes to our neck of the woods, the turnouts are pretty huge. His message said it all.
Back at home here, the temperature if flirting with the freezing point, and all the golf courses are closed down for the season. He started his rant by saying it was a "decent" day out – with temperatures flirting with the 90's – he spent the afternoon watching Mike Weir and Stephen Ames – crowds were minimal, and the golf was superb. I was instantly jealous – which was exactly the reaction he was looking for.
I searched youtube for some videos of the tournament – and thought I'd share them with you today. We got a tournament wind-up video and Round 1 highlights. Troy Matteson ended up winning the tournament, after beating Ricky Fowler and James Lovemark on the second playoff hole with a birdie.
