Good evening everyone. Ever wonder how companies are able to turn a block of steel into a beautiful milled putter? Our friends over at Sunset Beach Golf Company specialize in custom milled putters and sent over a bunch of pictures that take us through the process.

We start with a block of 1018 carbon steel

Starting to see the creation of the rear flange

Now we can see the shape of the back end of the putter

Removing extra material from the back

Removing this material gives the putter more heel/toe weighting

Milling the face. The putter is now ready for custom hosels, stamping, finishing, etc.
