Odds and Ends – Twitter, Nike Signing, Warranties

Good evening everyone. A bit of a mixed bag tonight. We've got a couple of reader emails and some odds and ends… including a signing by Nike Golf. Let's get to it!

ImageLet's do a few emails first…

I have a Maxfli driver that I bought last year and it split down the back side. I tried going to Dicks and they said it was a defect in the club but couldn't help me out with the problem cause they didn't carry the club anymore. Can you help me with this problem?

This is a tricky one because you've already been turned down by the shop. Dicks Sporting Goods owns Maxfli so you're in a bit of a pickle. I'm surprised that they won't warranty a club that's not that old. I'd maybe talk to a store manager or try calling their customer service desk. That number can be found on their website.

I have a Tommy Armour AYRTime Driver, which I really like but when I purchased this driver it only came with 1 weight. I would like to add 2 more weights to my AYRTime Driver. How do I find the weights? If you can help please send me this info.

Another tough question! I've looked everywhere and can't find any weights. Short of buying another driver for parts, I think you might be out of luck. I can't imagine the driver sounds or feels all that great with only one weight in place. I found a couple of cheap ones on Ebay. Maybe have a look there.

I'm trying out Twitter and really like it. I've noticed that there are a lot of pro golfers on there. Are they real or people pretending to be pros?

Thanks for the email. There are a number of LPGA and PGA pros that have embraced Twitter. Although there have been some fakes, the majority of them are real. Our friend Andy Brown has been keeping a running list of PGA and LPGA pros on Twitter. And of course you can follow us @SirShanksAlot59 and/or me (when I'm not being SirShanksAlot) @bsiddle.

And a few odds and ends…

Nike Golf has signed Amanda Blumenherst to their staff. Blumenherst is a very accomplished amateur golfer and was the 2008 U.S. Women's Amateur Champion.

The Ping nFlight fitting system is creating a bit of buzz. It's kind of a cross between a launch monitor and a video game. Check it out if you haven't seen it already.

Cool golf company I discovered on Twitter the other day… Sunset Beach Golf Company . They offer some pretty neat customized putters.

That's all for tonight. We've been busy with golf club reviews so expect to see some in a week or so. We're just waiting on data to come back from our Advisory Team.
