This past September, TaylorMade launched their latest line of mid-low end players irons – The P790. These irons feature a thicker topline, slight offset and a near full-forged design with a forged faceplate made with 4140 Carbon Steel and then welded onto a cast body of 8620 carbon steel body. These irons feature a hollow head that is filled with 4g of expandable ‘Speedfoam’ and then capped with a screw. This foam is said to improve COR of the face and help support it (as the face is only 1.75mm tick in some places). The 3-7 irons also feature a speed pocket down the face. These irons are a beautiful combination of design and playability. From the outside they look like blades in their styling, but when over the ball they instil confidence even in the most jittery players. Check out some pictures, specs and their promotional video below.

These irons are in stores and pro-shops near you and retail for $1,299USD.
