Golf News And Rumors

Looks like LPGA star Lexi Thompson is in need of a prom date. She's offering one lucky U.S. Armed Forces member a free trip to Fort Lauderdale to accompany her on her big night. Here's a video explaining her fun little contest. Head over to her Facebook page if you'd like to enter.

Callaway announced today a very cool personalization tool for it's RAZR Fit line-up.  This new web based tool allows you to customize your RAZR Fit driver into over 70,000 unique combinations or colors, shafts, grips, lengths, loft, and more.  This innovation is one of the best things we've seen from Callaway in sometime, and it's likely to get some good feedback from golfers.  Customizing clubs has always been a pain for golfers, and it often costs an arm and a leg - Callaway's udesign customization only sets you back $50 (shaft upgrades aside), which is very reasonable.

Hi everyone, we've got some odds and ends from the golfing world to share with you today from our friend Scott Kramer.  Some of these tidbits we've shared further information on throughout or site, some, are news to even us.  Enjoy!

The long awaiting i20 line from Ping has finally been released to the public. To accompany the irons and driver, we also have pictures and details of the fairway woods and hybrids to share with you today.

The new i20 fairway woods had few things to improve upon compared to the i15's, if player feedback was any indication. Designers were able to move weight around to improve MOI, and reduce spin off impact. Once again, designed for better players, this new design is geared towards players looking to work the ball. This new design is available in 14, 15 and 17 degrees and features the TFC 707F or Project X Black shaft. MSRP $255.

The new hybrids, which are geared towards better players looking for more control over ball flight, trajectory and spin have a very low center of gravity aimed to help golfers get the ball airborne quickly with a soft landing. These new hybrids are available in 17, 20, 23 degrees, with TFC 707F and Project X Black shaft options. MSRP - $210.

Plenty of pics and details of both clubs below. Enjoy!

All jokes aside, I guess it was inevitable. TaylorMade is working on a RocketBallz golf ball. The USGA recently tested it, and it made the conforming list. The ball's markings were simple - < Rocketballz > on the seam and "TaylorMade with a white T" on the front. Unfortunately no pictures at this time - keep an eye out in near future for more details.
