Source: New Callaway Proto "Driving" iron - GolfWRX:
SirShanksAlot comments: Some pictures were recently released of a new prototype driving iron from Callaway. While the look is very modern, this club design is a blast from the past. With all the advancements in hybrid technology of the years, it's hard to see why anyone (short of Tour players) would want one of these in their bag. Don't expect to see this at a store near you, it's a prototype for a reason. Cool nonetheless. Enjoy the pictures below, and plenty more at the link above.

There's been a recent addition to the USGA conforming list which has caused a little buzz as of late - the "Tour Authentic" RAZR Fit driver. Source: Golf Inventions, Patents, and Technology via The IP Golf Guy (aka The Golf Patent Attorney): Would it Work? Driver Head with “Flowing Moving Part
SirShanksAlot Comments: Our friend over had golf-patents.com got these next two patents right when he labeled these next few patents "would it work". Both these patents feature movable parts. The first a steel ball bearing that sits inside the club cavity that will impact the back of the clubface the moment of impact. My opinion? Have you ever heard a rattle in your shaft from loose epoxy glue? This would be much worse.
The next patent features a tube of liquid (mercury apparently) that will pool on the toe or heel of the club on off-center hits.
While both these patents are cool, I think they suffer from the same flaw. In the split-second (technically about 0.0005 of a second) during impact, the steel ball will still be mid-air in the clubhead, and the mercury fluid will have moved such a minuscule amount that it would make absolutely no difference. I'm not even going to talk about centrifugal forces... back to the drawing board.

SirShanksAlot Comments: An interesting new find on the USGA conforming list, this one from Mizuno Golf. The MP Craft 4 prototype driver features a unique "sunken" head shape design that looks pretty cool. Only time will tell if this club makes it to market. What are your thoughts?
