This week is the warm-up to the U.S. Open, The Barclays Classic. We’re a little late getting to our picks this week but here they go…
Four picks last week were Geoff Ogilvy, Fred Couples, David Howell and Stuart Appleby and we finished with a 28, T31, T46 and MC. Ouch, tough week, especially considering all four players were sitting inside the top 15 after the first round. Lets see if we can do a little better this week at…
The Barclays Classic. Padraig Harrington won this event last year and is looking to defend in 2006 at this tune up event for the second major of the year.
Since Harrington played so well here last year why not pick him again? He hasn’t done much to start the year but Harrington is too good a player to stay quiet for long.
My second pick again is David Howell. He struggled on the weekend at the Memorial but was still tired from winning the week before and flying across the Atlantic. His game always seems to round into shape for the majors.
Final two picks this week are Luke Donald and Sean O’Hair. Both seem to be playing better and have the short games to win this event.
