After a couple years of financial difficulty Orlimar appears to be back and ready to go. With some new financial backing and a solid business plan in place I would expect to see lots of the Orlimar name in the upcoming years.

The H830 hybrid club is designed along the same lines as the new VT830 fairway woods and the HTi440 driver. The H830 is the first hybrid for Orlimar and they seem to have done it right. The H830 combines many elements familiar to the Orlimar brand including a low profile head and a flat face (no bulge and roll). The H830 is made with an Alpha 300 stainless steel that allows Orlimar to bring the Coefficient of Restitution right to the allowable limit for drivers of .830, hence the name, the H830. This club is available in graphite only in ladies, senior, regular, stiff, and extra stiff flexes. The shaft works really well with this head and is great for just about any player considering going with this club including the stronger player.

With Orlimar’s established fairway wood technologies and some new ideas thrown in to the mix they have created a great golf club with the H830. This is one of the easiest golf clubs to hit on the market. It does look more like a fairway wood than most hybrid clubs and it plays like one with a high ball-flight. However the contoured sole design make this club far more versatile than most fairway woods. It can be hit from nearly any type of lie with ease.

The only drawback some of our testers had is that it hit the ball too high. Some players may have trouble with a ballooning ball flight with this club but for most it works great. Some of our better players also complained that they couldn’t work the ball very well with this club and it played too much like a fairway wood. Overall though this club tested to great results and nearly all of our testers loved it.
