- After losing nearly 100 pounds, apparently John Daly is looking better in pants nowadays, so good in fact that he has been approached to endorse an underwear line by Slix, on online company. He’s even agreed to launch a new reality show on The Golf Channel about his road to personal recovery, we’ll be sure to tune in – All the best John!
- It’s a little known fact that, driving a golf cart while intoxicated is indeed illegal, and you can be given a DUI. Albeit, you shouldn’t expect to see a checkstop off the 15th tee anytime soon… it’s food for thought. Welsh Rugby star Andy Powell recently found this out first hand when he was charged with drunk driving while in a golf cart.
- Cleveland Golf has just made a strong push into the bargain putter market. The new Cleveland BRZ putters, of which there are four models, are set to be released on March 1st, 2010 for the bargain basement price of only $89. Let me tell you something, these putters look pretty sweet for costing less than $100, they feature a BRZ finish and a copper infused insert. Keep an eye out for the four models, Anser-style blade, heel shafted mallet, slant neck blade and double bend mallet.
- Mitsubishi Rayon wins the driver shaft count at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship. Just weeks after they launch three new shafts, the Fubuki Alpha, Diamana Kai’li and ‘Ilima, MRC Golf has had an impressive tour presence already.
- Leave it to us Canadians to make a golf contest like no other. The Odyssey White Ice Challenge will test your short game knowledge and you could be entered to win a trip to the Tim Hortons Brier (curling) in Halifax for a chance to putt on the ice for $100,000. Considering curling ice is pebbled, this sounds a lot like cruel and unusual punishment to me. Regardless, this contest period ends Thursday, February 25th, 2010 – so don’t miss this one!
